Elections

In a few weeks from now, a new era of governance will be ushered in along with the candidates that Filipinos have chosen for themselves to lead this country. Whether they are the best candidate for the position or not, the responsibility rests in the hands of each and every voters to make. Choosing the country’s next leader through voting is a right every Filipino has and therefore must exercise. The voters have the power to choose who they want to run this country that’s why voters must make that decision with this thought on the back of their minds: who would I want to run my country. Shading that empty circle to choose your future President, Vice-President, Senators, Governors, Mayors, Party List etc., must not be limited to what they have given previously but must be stretched to what they can offer in the next six years. These people will be a constant figure in your everyday lives and can either shape or mold your future that’s why it is extra important to choose the candidate that you truly believed.

One vote cannot make a difference. This kind of twisted thinking can be very frustrating and disappointing but it is something that must be fought off and debunked. One vote makes all the difference. All these combined one vote will add up to hundreds, to thousands to millions eventually hence making all the difference.

Go out and make your voice be heard. Voting will only take a short time off your day but the consequences will be felt for a long time. A person who does not exercise his right to vote has no right to neither grumble nor nitpick the government’s state and its leaders because they did not take the time to participate in the most important election process which is the voting. It’s like saying you do not give a crap to whatever and whoever will take the seat. This is the beauty of having a democracy, people can choose their leader without somebody biting on your neck and telling you what to do every single moment with your life.

If you are someone who wants a change to happen in your own country, the power is right there in your hands. If you’re tired of the same nonsense and rotten governance, corrupt officials, greedy leaders and selfish intentions, go cast your vote for the candidate you believe will not be like others, somebody who will initiate change and will put the people’s interest first before their personal gains.
